Resume Jonne van der Drift

Retirement

Retired from a life long career as a succesful media professional and innovative entrepreneur I have ample time to tour the wonderful Dutch golf links, play bridge with friends, hike around the countryside with my wife and share my broad area of interest with members of Amsterdam based Royal Industrieele Groote Club. Here

I am the founding member of many committees on a range of subjects including Academic Research, Fashion, Film, International Relations, Journalism & Media, Literature, Ocean Sailing, Sports and Wine

Volunteering

As a retired Internet investor I put my creativity, knowledge and experience in Business Development, Retail, ICT, Sports, Entertainment and Culture to non-profit organisations that want to innovate. I offer advice and guidance -also pro bono publico- to entrepreneurs of start-up new ventures that desire better returns on their digital media investments or just want a low-cost good working website.

Internet and e-Commerce

When Philips acquired the source codes in 1996, I changed the company focus to Internet consulting and project management. From that moment I developed and led many media technology and e-commerce projects for international companies, including Bose, ABN-AMRO Bank, Robeco, KPN, Festo, Neckermann and Inmac Microwarehouse

Media Technology

At KPN I discovered a growing need for networked multimedia, left the company and co-founded in 1992 CDMATICS in a strategic partnership with Philips. The collaboration focused on the development of TeleCD introducing the world's first networked multimedia application based on a coupling of the new Philips multimedia platform with telephony networks. With leading food retailer Albert Heijn as launch customer, CDMATICS gained worldwide recognition and was honored several times.

Digital Publishing

I started at ITT World Directories where I worked as a manager in marketing, sales and product development for Yellow Pages, Europages and their new electronic business directories. Then, as a business consultant, I held general management positions at a Dutch cable TV news operator and the Netherlands's first network for PC users. After I merged the network with KPN I became responsible for marketing their national value added services.

Conference and Event Production

While studying Drama and Contemporary Music Theatre at Amsterdam University of the Arts I discovered my talent for creating events. Rather than continue as a performing artist I chose to become a professional organizer.

As a young entrepreneur I staged conferences, seminars, corporate events and musical concerts for some of the largest global corporations and performers alike including Coca-Cola, American Bankers Assoc., Metal Bulletin, Honda, Tupperware, Cap Sogeti, Frank Sinatra, Charles Aznavour, Neil Diamond, Liza Minelli, Andy Williams a.o.
